Syed Rubaiyat Ferdous is a passionate researcher from Bangladesh who started his PhD in the fall of 23. His research project is centered on uncovering the molecular intricacies of how PFAS, a group of chemicals found in flame retardants influences the behavior of Zebrafish during their early development. Ferdous holds a Bachelor's degree in Fisheries and a Master's degree in Fisheries Biology and Genetics, both conferred by Bangladesh Agricultural University. Beyond his academic pursuits, he is a passionate sports enthusiast, with a particular affinity for cricket, badminton, and soccer. Furthermore, his adventurous nature is evident in his love for travel and hiking, reflecting a well-rounded and exploratory approach to life.

Rose is a Lab Scientist . She recently graduated from Clemson University with her B.A in Biological Sciences. Within the lab, Rose supports various projects, trains and manages undergrads and leads a project on early developmental exposures to flame retardants and their effects on gastrulation. In the future, she hope to continue her education to ultimately become a research professor. She is an avid soccer player loves to stay active.

Alfredo Rojas is a first-generation student who graduated with a BS in Biological Sciences in 2023. He spent much of his early life playing violin and furthered his craft by attending the South Caroline Governor’s School for the Arts and the Humanities. During his time as a performing violinist, he had the opportunity to give a series of concerts in Dresden, Leipzig, and Berlin Germany. After graduation, he would like to further his education by pursuing a master’s degree, with the ultimate goal of doing scientific research.
